LAN access to other computer.

-- We have 2 computers on a local area network and can access our printer
from either computer and get on line etc.
This is all working fine.My question is: How do I access the other
computer so that we can share a game program and other files? When I go to
"My network Places" I can only see the printer and the LInksys . Also , can I
restrict access to just the local area network?

Successful Sharing involves some general consideration in Network settings,

You should probably start by running the Network Setup Wizard on each computer.

And check both computers for misconfigured or overlooked personal firewalls.

You can probably diagnose the problem, using logs from "browstat status",
"ipconfig /all", "net config server", and "net config workstation", from each
computer. Read this article, and linked articles, and follow instructions
precisely (download browstat!):
