Lack of video playback in powerpoint

I have recently tried to use some video clips in one of my
powerpoint presentations. I am using the 'insert movie'
command but get an error message at every insert attempt.

cannot find vids:mjpeg decompressor

Does anyone know why this is or what I should install or
patch to fix this problem??

Where did the video clips come from
What is the 3 letter extension (e.g. avi mpg wmv) etc

Have you read the tip on this page (near the end)
