I have posted twice about a problem I am having with Msger: once on 7/7 (part
of an already opened thread) and once on 7/22 (new separate thread).

THERE HAS BEEN NO RESPONSE..

Is this the level of support we consumers can expect from Microsoft?

You are NOT in contact with Microsoft when you post a question here. You are
on a public news group, where other people like yourself, help out "if" they
know the answer. It is called peer-to Peer support. If you know the answer,
and feel inclined to post it here, you can. But no one can make anyone post
an answer to your question.

Regarding your earlier post:

If other people see you are on-line, even when your computer is turned off,
I would think that someone else is using your account.

Did you ever log-on to your account from another computer? If so, and you
didn't delete the log-on information (passport/hotmail account and your
password) then it is very likely that the person who owns the computer is
looking at your account and accessing your hotmail.

It could also be that someone has stolen your account for their own
purposes, usually illicit.

Now it is up to you to remedy the problem.

Hi Richard,

Then how does one get MS support for Messenger? I've looked all over the
myriad of websites, and not found anthing to indicate that one can actually
contact Microsoft about a problem with this product.

I am extremely security conscious about using a PC that is not my own; I
make sure that if I happen to be on the road & using a public PC, that I have
left no trace of being online. That is why I never log onto REALLY sensitive
websites from anywhere except my own PC or one of my family members. Also, I
use a nonsequeteur password.

Also, if it were the case that someone else was using my MSN account I would
expect to find unusual emails or similar activity in my inbox. This has not
happened.

Meanwhile, if someone had indeed pirated my account, what would be my
options for finding this out? Since the account is web based, is there a
record of which ISP the log in originates from?

Lots of questions, no real answers...

Hi Richard,

I have gone through several steps to remove any trace of WINDOWS Msger from
my PC, including something from another thread. Supposedly all these steps
have removed W-Msger from my PC. In fact, the last time I ran one of the
removal tools, it actually said something to the effect that Windows
Messenger 4.7 could not be found on the PC.

Meanwhile, if I I click on the link to MSN Msger in that article, it simply
takes me to the screen to DL the new Messenger Live.

So it doesn't seem like there is ANY support for Messenger 7.5. :(

HI LFR,

According to all the removal tools I have run, I no longer have Windows
Msger on my PC. In fact, the last one I ran gave me a msg to the effect that
Windows Messenger 4.7 did not exist on my PC.

Meanwhile, I do not have MSN Msger starting automatically when I start up;
I've taken it OUT of my Start-UP and only activate it manually.

Thanks for the thought, though. :(
