Lack of support by MS

I have never been so appalled by the lack of MS support
until XP. It is already claiming that I have exceeded
my free support references. This sucks since I just
installed Messenger 4.7, and it has disabled Winamp 3. I
wish I was a developer and could explain the coding
behind it, but I cannot. The fact is that my desktop
link to www.digitallyimported.com automatically opened
winamp 3 until I installed the MS messenger update
today. Of course, now, I cannot get support for this
crap due to the level of MS bs to get any kind of
support. MS has the monopoly and needs to be brought to
its knees quickly. This is a vast disappointment even
since I started running NT 4.0 about 5 years ago. I
received plenty of support then, even as a home network
user. Now, I don't get crap from MS. Pay for garbage is
not my style. I used to be against hackers until the bs
I had to go through for simple tech support tonight.

If you have called for assistance more than twice, then you have - all MS
retail products only come with two free support incidents. This has been the
case for as long as I have been dealing with Microsoft products (since the
DOS 3 days).

Not Microsoft's fault if you have trouble reading.

Greetings --

Why in the world would you even think that Microsoft
could/would/should provide support for a 3rd party product (WinAmp),
even if you hadn't already used up your two calls?

And, by the way, Microsoft does not have a monopoly; you're free
to use Linux, Unix, MacOS, or number of other perfectly viable
operating systems.

Yep! Most definitely me! Had a lovely email from a lady this
morning, offering me her undying support and that she thought that KM et al
were "dispicably disgraceful"! Doesn't bother me - I've a very thick skin
(as the bathroom scales will attest!)

Amethyst,

This is an XP newsgroup, that is, help and support for the many that have problems with XP seeking help, and is not an encounter group for daily idle chit-chat. When you make posts like these, you are wasting bandwidth, and the time of others seeking help because they click on these messages. Please socialise in the proper groups, ie, alt. I-violate-the-rules-I-set-on-others-because-my-chit-chat-is-more-important-than-their-irrelevant-help-requests.
