Lack of directions

I wanted to use the telephone via my PC; use Outlook to call clients and
Journalling to record information.

I could find instructions of how to do this. I have a sound card, a modem.
I stumled around trying to discover how to do this for weeks.

I download Skype. Was able to make it work. But I still had the problems
with headset/speakers. I could hear in the headset until the connection was
made then the headset speakers quit and the regular speakers came on -- for
all to hear.

Still finding no direction at Microsoft, I established a Restore Point, then
downloaded and installed an update from my sound card maker Creative.

I could hear through the headset, but lost the speakers and couldn't get
them back.

I tried to remove the update. It failed.

I tried to execute the Restore Point. It failed.

My computer would not boot.

I tried to repair Windows XP home. It is now hung.

For the lack of a nail...

Carey gave me something really unique...an MVP with the Microsoft attitude
that we really don't care about your problems.
