greets folks. apologies in advance if this question has been answered in detail recently. i googled a couple of different ways and didn't
get the answer i sought. anyways, for anyone who has legitimate info, if you could give me a link to some specs as well, i'd greatly
appreciate it.

TIA

| HUMANS: the animal that killed the planet...

thanks and all, but i wouldn't have asked here if i'd gotten a straight answer from the company. i went there 1st, but of course there is
no way for anyone to have known that. so again, does anyone know for a fact which drive LaCie externals tend to use? according to the
company it depends on the market. now Glyph uses exclusively Seagate and clearly says so at their website.

TIA

Why the concern, since the warranty is with lacie and not hd manu?
and any performance differences are unlikely to be noticed.

If you are only trying to determine the manufacturer of the drive in
your enclosure without opening it, I believe the drive ID information
reported by Device Manager usually contains the manufacturer's name
and model number of the drive. At least it has for USB drives I have.

Happy New Year!
