Hi I am getting a "#Error" in my address labels in the "Name" slot. All of my other info is coming up fine (Address, City, State, Zip). Can anyone explain what this error is and perhaps how I could fix it? Thanks so much

Name is a reserved word since name is the name of a property of every object
in Access. What is the exact expression in your control source and what is
the name of the text box?

i am just making an address list so the text field is called "name" and has the person or peoples names in the field. i.e. "mr. and mrs. brock" or "Jane doe". I don't see the error until I preview the labels (I am using the label wizard to make the labels).

Please re-read my earlier response and provide the two pieces of information
that I asked for. When people take the time to respond to your request for
assistance, it is important that you take the time to read their response
and answer their questions.

sorry maybe this will make it more clear

my label looks like this:

#Error
55 block street
indianoplis, IN
11111

instead of:

Mr. John Doe
55 block street
indianoplis, IN
11111

it does this for every record so I didn't think it was because the text
was too long...

I am very grateful for your help but as I did not know what a control source was I tried to give you all of the info I added to my report in my two reply's. I never had to use a "control" source. I created my access table with the design view and titled fields then pasted in my data. I then used the label wizard to create address labels which asked me for the table i would like to use and then asked for the fields that it should put on my label. I never had to input a control source nor use an expression builder. I am sorry that my technical knowledge of access reports is small and that I misunderstood your question and failed to answer your questions

In the future I will make it more clear that I am very clueless about what your question means

In any case I think I solved my problem so I apologize for taking up your time

you and other "Helpers"are. Mabey the person didn't Know exactly what you
meant.
Take clue and try to be a little more understanding...Please?

True, however, if they don't understand for instance what a "control source"
is they can either ask or press F1 for help.
