What's the best way to label data that I export to
Excel? I want to mark the parameters of the query (for
example, the start date of the data) on the spreadsheet,
so when I send the spreadsheet to another person, they
know the start date of the data. I have tried using text
boxes [enter start date] and exporting a report to Word
using tools, office links, publish with word, but the
contents of the text boxes don't always appear on the
word document. Ditto for tools, office links, analyze
with excel.

Couple of things:
1) if you export a query to Excel, the spreadsheet tab will have the query
name. If you named the query with the data that you wanted to send, they
could see it there.

2) you could create a "false column" with the information. So for example,
if you put:
This is the Start Date (1/1/2004):""
in the field row of the query builder, it will be output as a column header.
