Label printing Printer settings problem

I am trying to print labels using Microsoft Access 2000.

I am printing to an Epson DFX-5000 Tractor fed label printer.

I set up the report in access and it prints and works great from my
machine. I am telling the access report to use a specific printer (the
epson) and set it up as a label size piece of paper.

All the other machines on my network however seem to lose all these
settings. They still print to the Epson, but the page size reverts
back to Letter instead of label. I can manually change them back to
have the correct settings, but this obviosuly isnt practical.

I have installed all updates or office, and the printer driver as
well.

Any ideas on how to get these access reports to remember their
settings?

(with my bad english !) ... do you have clients with WIN2000 Pro SP3
??
I had a lot of problem
simply going from SP2 to SP3; I'd officially posted my problems to
Microsoft ... but I'm already waiting for the solution. But yesterday I found
that setting off the spooler of the printer (I print on a DFX 5000 too) i.e
setting "print directly to printer", on each client, the things goes right
!!

Eric,

Thanks for responding, however, I have installed all updates for
Office and XP and the MS Article clearly says the resolution is to
install the updates. Also, I turn the autocorrect off/on
progromatically depending on if I am working as the developer or the
users are working. I do this to increase speed in the environment for
the users. I had found this in another MS article.

If the Service pack is not fixing this problem as the article
describes, please let me know, and also let me know how your solution
will impact what I am doing to increase system response time.

Thanks.

I take it that you get the same result if you turn off Name AutoCorrect via
UI.

Do you get the same behavior with another printer?

Eric,

I did not try disabling the Autocorrect because the patch supposedly
fixed this problem. I have a lot of code written that turns that
off/on as needed, and didnt want to mess with it if I dont have to. I
do not have another printer to test this issue on, as thats the only
tractor fed label printer we have/need.

Are you telling me the patch is not working on certian occasions with
this autocorrect situation? Should I still try that?

Hi Johnathan,

I'm suggesting that you first see if turning off AutoName correct works or
not...

It maybe printer driver related.

Eric
