Is there any way to change a label's orientation from
horizontal to vertical on a form - similar to changing a
cell by going to 'Format Cells...' --> 'Alignment' in
Excel?

Yes if you have a version of Access that supports it.
Check the Other tab on the label's property sheet.
If there is a Vertical property set it to Yes.
Resize the label so the text fits.
