I've been trying to read up on the subject, and the more I read, the more
complicated the subject becomes !

From what I've gleaned (for my old XP2600 Barton 128kb L1 + 512kb L2 cache)
:-

L1 is best set in bios to WriteBack
L2 is best set in bios to Write Thru

I've previously always had both set to WriteBack but, I Googled out a page
where someone claimed that WriteThru is a better setting for LC Cache,

....any views ? :-)

regards, Richard

....it appears that setting L2 cache to WriteThru forces disk write requests
to be written immediatley and not cached !

....mmm....
