KX7-333 Processor Upgrade...Maybe??

I am running a AMD Athlon 1600 in this board (KX7-333) for quite some
time. It has 1gb of PC3200 (2 X 512).

I tried to install a AMD Athlon 2500 and no joy. It seems the most the
last bios (CN) can handle up tp a 2200. Any ideas would be
appreciated.

Put the 1600 back and return the 2500, if you purchased it recently. The
reason is, even if you could get it working, it wouldn't make a significant
difference. Your next upgrade should be to something in socket 939. If you
can't afford that right now, save up your money until you can. -Dave
 
Thanks Mike... This is a chip that was bought a good while a go for a
project that never happened. I agree that the would be a smal
increasel ... just would like to get it running if possible.
