KVMs with VGA & DVI?

It took you to a hell of a lot more than just that.
I had already looked there - Didn't see one. Which please?

I didnt say that that one has any of those.

And do you actually need a KVM with both anyway ?

You can get a DVI KVM and put a converter on one of the ports for
the VGA support if you just have one monitor that can only do VGA.

I have a 4-port VGA KVM now, and I could put adaptor(s) on the VGA
cabling to accommodate the DVI connector on the monitor, but I don't
think that would gain me anything. I sometimes have to service
friends' machines and it has been very convenient for me to be able to
simply connect up one of my extra cable connectors. Their machines
would be VGA mostly. So What I am thinking is that I would like to
find a 'bargain' DVI KVM (4-port) to used instead, and then get an
adaptor to convert an unused DVI back to VGA when I have to do any
servicing. Sound right? I imagine such a KVM wud be expensive.

Thanks

Jethro

Yes, but the opposite, a DVI KVM would let you use DVI for the
monitor that has that, and a converter FOR THE VGA MONITOR
wouldnt be any worse image quality wise than you currently get.

Yes, but you can still do that with a DVI KVM and a converter for those.

Yes, that would work fine.

I usually do something similar with foreign machines I am working on,
use a KVM, and once they are working adequately actually use
Synergy instead of the KVM just because its more convenient to
change from machine to machine just by moving the mouse than
it is to switch the KVM. I have a spare monitor that is normally
used on those foreign machines while they are at my place.

Nope, DVI KVMs arent, and neither are the converters.

Maybe you mean a KVM with both VGA and DVI switching would be expensive.
Dunno, I didnt bother to go thru that google result to see what they cost.
