KVM Switch working only after plugging/unplugging it back and forth?

Hello,
I have 2 computers hooked up to the Belkin KVM Switch.
One of the computers I built from scratch about 6 months ago and that one
works fine.
The other is about 5 years old and everytime I turn it on, the monitor keeps
going in and out of standby mode and XP tells me that the USB device is not
recognized. If I pull out the USB of the KVM switch and plug it back it,
then it recognizes it. What is going on? This makes no sense at all. You
would think that once XP recognizes it, it would work from there on out
everytime that I reboot. Does anyone have any ideas?

I knew it was a belkin just from the subject. Contact Belkin for a
replacement.
