KVM switch and Vista hang

Twice now, I have had virgin installs, loaded and purchased, hang
consistantly after switching away from them on a KVM switch and returning.
The system appears functional but none of the icons will activate when I
double click on them. The right click options are limited and not helpful.
Shortcuts, the return key, nor any other method works to open an icon. I am
left with reseting the system.

I have searched the MS Knowledge DB and Google without any help. You all
are my last hope. If any one has any ideas or solutions, I would greatly
appreciate the opportunity to test them out.

Purchase a better quality KVM switch, one that reliably provides the
necessary "keep alive" signals to the "inactive" OS.

Thanks Bruce...that is definitely an option to fix the problem. I will look
into that since I have another 4 port KVM, later model. I suppose the
nagging question for me is that I have never seen the system 'lock' this way.
You can move the mouse, highlight icons, right click, etc. but can not
active any icons. This is an odd sort of locking that seems tied to some
driver or software conflict. I was hoping someone might, at least, have a
similar experience to validate it is not just my tired eyes and equipment.

Thanks again for the solution!
