KT7 & Via Chipset

Greetings,
I have an Abit KT7 motherboard with Duron 800 processor.
I recently had to strip it down and re-install windows.

I have been having USB problems with my printer. It communicates
and prints and then will stop communicating. Reboot, and it will
start communicating. This is with a virgin install (fdisk, format,
install),
and all the Win98SE patches from Microsoft.

Do I need to put a chipset patch on (4in1 or whatever) to get the USB
working consistently.
