Click on "New Snapshot" and THEN

o Start ksnapshot on virtual desktop One.
o Set as full screen.
o Snapshot delay 20 seconds
o Click on "New Snapshot" and THEN
o Switch to virtual desktop two.
o Open menu structure.
o Wait.
o Ksnapshot will pop up with capture.
o Crop to suit.

Your KSnapshot recipe worked like a champ
on the first try ....

An example showing the Knoppix Desktop
with the KDE menu open to Multimedia/Graphics ....

Hopefully, this screen shot helps to show
that Linux menus may be very similar
to those encountered in Windows ....

The 1024x768 .png KSnapshot was saved
to a Windows FAT32 partition under Linux/Knoppix ....

Re-sized to 800x600 and converted to .jpg image
using IrfanView under Win98_SE ....
