Just installed on my stock Evga 980 SC GTX.
A problem I had with the stock cooling is that my card would idle at 35c and hit the 80c mark while playing intensive games or benchmarking. Pretty hot stuff. Setting the fan to around 75% kept the temps down to 70c but was rather loud.
A quick 10 min run of MSI Afterburner Kombuster shows my max temps being 38c with a low of 20c.
A rather significant decrease in temps for around $100 investment.
Something I'd recommend if your GPU is running too hot for comfort. Also I installed some Vram heatsinks for good measure.
