Have purchsed toner for the cassettes, but even when completely filled
with toner, the software says that the cassette is empty.

How to set up the cassette so that the printer program reads it as
being full?

The cartrige doesn't have a sensor to detect the presence of toner.
Instead there is a small reflector sticking out at the rear side on new
cartriges which retracts when you've installed the cartrige in the printer
for the first time.

Hello, I've been working on this problem for a while and just figured it
out. I have a magicolor 2350en, same cartridge.

Besides the printer sofware that needs to be set to continue rather than
stop when it detects an empty cartridge, you need to reset a small
rachette device in the end of the cartridge opposite of the refill end.

Tried it and it works fine. Now I can go back to my other "empty"
cartridges and use all of the toner.
