A few of weeks ago, I was in contact with KM regarding a camera issue.
Just wanted to pass along that there was *not* a clear answer to
questions about future scanner support--it was apparently at least
*possible* that it was up in the air with everything else in the camera
division, and might or might not survive the transition. Has anyone
heard differently since then? Might be the last chance to get support
(or even parts?) if you're a KM owner. I believe the final day of
operations was to be March 31?

Just phoned them because my KM-5400-II has broken.
They confirmed: after 31-March we'll have to turn to Sony, at least in the
Netherlands.
BTW, if anyone needs to open the 5400-II, be very careful to not rip out any
of the wires which are stuffed loose in the cabinet. The outer white platic
shell (inside everything is plastic too, this is definitely a consumer
product) has little hooks to hold it to the bottom plate, and these catch
easily on the wires botton-front-left (if facing the unit).
