I got "free" Kodak EasyShare software, and loaded it. Now it has converted
all my photos to its (Kodak EasyShare's) format. It made Kodak my default
photo viewer, and I don't like it.

How do I get back to Windows Picture and Fax viewer as my default software
for viewing photos, faxes, etc?

Right click an image and from the menu...choose
Properties / Change Button...choose the program
you wish to use (Windows Picture and Fax Viewer)
and click...OK / Apply / OK.

You'll have to do this for each format...jpg, .gif, .tif, etc.

I note with interest your knowledge on Picture and Fax viewer, and wondered
if you might be able to help me with a problem.
I have just found that my Picture and fax viewer saves every picture i view,
some i do not wish other people to see on this computer, i have deleted them,
some 900+ but some of them have come back automatically, are they saved
somewhere? can i delete them for good? and what sort of space must they be
taking up?
Can i use another picture viewer and how can that be done?
Hope you can help.

Windows Picture and Fax Viewer...is just
a viewer...actually it's a .dll file...shimgvw.dll
to be exact.

I suspect the unwanted images you are in
your Temporary Internet Files folder. The
following articles should explain how to solve
your problem:

Personally, I delete everything from my
Temporary Internet Files folder daily.

Here's the path to the folder:

Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files

I installed Ulead and didn't like so took it out and now my photos that come
in attachemnets come in closed and my attachments sent out are received
closedand they need to be downloaded to temp file to be viewed. I tried what
you said, but this did fix my problem my PC is diaassosiated, and I went to
the link you mentions and I cant figure out where to look for "registry
editor" to begin with, and they have an automated wizard, but I tried to down
load it but it meantions something about the registry and that didn't work,
