Kodak DC280 and Windows XP

XP doesn't support this camera, and neither does Kodak, so no other
app will get the pictures even tho it is detected. I use the USB
connection. Is there any way to get the pictures other than adding a
card reader?

Do you use Linux? gphoto2 supports your camera through usb and GTKam is a
very snazzy graphical front-end for it.
 
It only shows EasyShare software. I tried that. AFIK it does not
access the camera itself and does not get the pictures.
