Looks like crippleware. I will have a look at it later, but the option
to download files other than today's is an option reserved for
'registered' users.
As are a few other options.

Registration is optional and conditional upon a donation...

Looks useless.
2.2MB standalone exe!!
Only one ng can be entered!
Only does yEnc; no UUE.

I picked a group with 78000 headers and it took over my cpu. God knows
what would have happened if I had let it complete and then sort the
headers.
So I got bored and exited it. But it refused and had to be forced, so
lost settings for the next launch.
Twice.
Apparently you can't abort a header download cleanly.

And it phones home when you go for a header download with no option to
stop this. Dunno why.

This app does not begin to compete with real binary apps. I don't know
why it exists.

Ah:

======================
Network Connectivity - KoamUtility looks for a search-file
(http://www.koamutility.com/koam.html) on startup. This file contains
some defaults and preferences that helps with the search for files.
=======================

Enabled by default for all users. Available for registered users only.

LOL etc.

I couldn't resist ;)

It's beta...a little bigger than normal.
Only one ng can be entered!
I believe you can enter more than one, I'll check.
Only does yEnc; no UUE.
Correct! UUE will be added at some point, but yEnc is better than UUE.
Lower overhead, better format.

Fixed: This was actually fixed yesterday. Download the lastest copy.
It's still beta so a bit slow. It'll get much faster.

Hold down ESC on Windows, or Command-. on Mac.

Sure you can. There's an option in the preferences that will look for
the file via URL. The reason it does this is because it is dependent
upon postings to Newsgroups. As you know, people post in many different
ways. And they are not guaranteed to do this the same way every time.
This option exists so:
a) If a poster decides to change their posting format, a simple
update of this file will continue to work for everyone.
b) If there's a new version, you can be notified. Again you can turn
this off by specifying you're own url. See the latest version.
This app does not begin to compete with real binary apps. I don't know
why it exists.
Again, it's beta. It exists so that you can download a file
automatically everyday!!! It's not a generalutility. It's a koamutility
and it does what it does pretty well, and it's getting better.

That's why it exists! ;)

Actually, No! This is incorrect!

Registration is optional and NOT conditional upon a donation!!!

Registration is preferred so that the program can still be updated,
improved, new features, etc... if there's interested in it.

If people register...the author has incentive to keep improving the
utility. If no one registers (ie. lack of interest) the author has no
incentive to keep improving the product.

Donation is optional. And not for the program. Just good will. You don't
have to donate.

Not crippleware...The App does what it does.

Again it's not a general utility, it's a koamutility ;)

....and donations are optional and not required at all. In fact, just
there for good will, not for the program.

Try the lastest version...don't worry...it'll get much faster, it's
still beta.
