Ok so I boot my new laptop with Windows XP Home Edition, I get the following DOS looking message:

Windows could not start because the C:\windows\system32\config\system file is missing or corrupt.

So windows won't boot now, so I find KBA 823514 and it tells me to copy C:\windows\repair\system to the C:\windows\system32\config folder and replace the corrupted system file. I do this, and now windows will sorta boot but keeps bouncing itself and rebooting and never gets to any true user interface, just a constant rebooting cycle. But even worse when I go back to my system restore/repair utility the administrator's password has been changed!!! Thank you microsoft, now I can't not even access my files to fix anything. Please help me!!!!! Any help is greatly appreciated, because I am screwed. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
