Why?

A notepad style utility.
(whatever that may be)
* Notes can be any colour and 'snap' to screen edges
* Open a new note with a mouse click
* Messages remain on screen after a Reboot

So, is it yet another sticky notes thing, or what?

Yes it is.

I couldn't find one I liked so i wrote this one.
I've been using it for over a month now and would be lost without it.
It's only a small download and could be useful.

How does it improve on, eg Stickies 4.5a, or Jack Creations ScrapPad?

haven't heard of those, I assume they are like all the other post-it style
proggies that are bulked with too many options, this program is compact and
fast, looks great in xp (transparent fades when message loses focus) and its
only 400k. No mess install which doesn't alter your sys reg. i could go on
about the various features but I'm getting tired, its been a long day. :8)

I certainly don't want to discourage you, but have you looked at the
freeware competition? There are a lot of good sticky notes programmes
out there. Personally, I have no need for them, as my notes are in a
plain text file with a Metapad shortcut on my desktop. That's all I
need for temporary short notes. Eventually they are either deleted or
filed (Treepad).

Ok, so you don't need my program. I've had a good response from people who
have used Knote and said it is very useful. I won't be discouraged from any
comments you make, I enjoy writing software and all my programs are first
written for my own needs and then given away free for others to try and
hopefully find useful. Thanks for the comments though. :8)

I've downloaded and I'll try it. Don't be discouraged from such useless
comments and keep on enjoying programming :-)
Thank you!

I don't agree with the uselessnes of the previous posts, the posters were
simply pointing out that there are al lot of similar programs around.
I think it's a great that you (Bluepig) are enjoying making your own
programs and sharing them with us, and I'm sure they are all very good, but
your remark "I assume they are like all the other post-it style proggies
that are bulked with too many options" is as least as useless as the
remarks made by the other posters. Check them out first before judging
them, as other people should check your product out before judging it.
