Knackered 9600 pro

Hi all,

my 9600 pro 128 has just died after 10 months, it was slightly overclocked
to 397/297. Can overclocking be detected if it was returned to the retailer?
If so, I guess I'll just have to go shopping, what is a decent card
nowadays?

Overclocking (assuming no hardmodding, which is not an issue for 9600series)
can NOT be detected by anyone. You can get a 9800pro or 9800 for good price.
Make SURE 9800pro has 256bit mem interface, there are some cheap, newly
released ones (incl. from sapphire) that have 128bit mem interface!! Beware.

Thanks for the quick reply, I used Radclocker to clock it which mades it
nice and easy to clock for an idiot like me.
Is it worth waiting for a replacement or are cards that much better nowadays
that I should just buy a new one and sell the replacement when it arrives?

depends on your money.Wait for the card or get a new one and sell the old
one when it is replaced in ebay
