Killing two birds...

Greetings! Running XP. 40 Gig H.D. Need more space. Son had found one file
or folder @ 18 Gigs! What's the best way to find it again? Also Word has been
selective in corrupting my resumes. Kids & Mom's school papers just fine, but
had to download "Open Office" and transfer resumes there while still had
some. Causes problems. Should I just un-install MS Office and re-install?

1. Start > Search and order the results by size.

2. Who knows? You haven't supplied any information that might point to a
cause for your problem.
 
As you already have Microsoft Office ,you shouldn't have downloaded Open
Office.

No matter ,MS Office is quite intelligent which can scan and detect errors
in it so repairs only the damaged one.You can also re-install it without
uninstalling.

WHY on EARTH not? I have Office 2003 AND Open office 2 on the same
machine. Just like I have Internet Explorer ANF Firefox.
Please explain your reasoning.
