my problem: while doing a new install of w2kpro all goes well until after 1st restart: the install process starts anew as if the first stage wasnt even completed, though it was because it recognizes formatting, file structure, etc.

i have a brand new Maxtor® Atlas™ V 7200RPM SCSI disk drive and am using an Adaptec AHA-2940UW Ultra Wide adapter (installed 3rd party drivers when prompted to do so) any help or at least a nudge in the right direction greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

Make sure the box isn't booting from the install CD when it
reboots.

Hi alionraa,

One suggestion I have is to boot into Safe Mode
Right mouse My Computer
Advanced tab
Startup and Recovery button...
Uncheck "Automatically reboot"
If you get a BSOD, post it and someone will help you.

good computing,
