Did anyone see it this morning? Still on as I type

Suckling pigs approx 8weeks old were sent to slaughter in front of camera with an audience and then the audience had a chance to eat the pig after cleaning and preparation

Very interesting

Just to add. It is on again tonight only this time it's Kid Goat

Tune in BBC 3. C106 on Virgin

I eat meat but I wonder what tales pigs would tell if they wrote Fairy Stories...

'And the Giant said in a big booming voice 'I'm going to whip out your innards, put an apple in your mouth, put you in a giant oven then eat you all up'' ;)

I was working in a hotel kitchen once and they had three of those suckling pigs sitting there in the cold store and every time I went in there they were looking at me. So I turned them round the other way :D

I've shot, cooked and killed rabbits before and I'd eat suckling pig but it still seems a little cruel. Maybe I'm soft ;)

Wellk they also showed hw they do it in spain. It was a lot worse. A spanish chef in the audience said he was embarassed by it.
Another english chef said he wont be selling that type again in his restaurant

3weeks old compared to our 8 to 12weeks

What does it matter though?

Meat is meat. If you are going to eat it if it's 8 weeks old or 52 weeks old you will get the same taste.

(adds the program to his record list)

Apparently not mate. Suckling Pig is a lot sweeter than older livestock

That comes direct from the Restaurantaur and the Diner

Yeah, but the pig has had no life. It's cruel.

That chicken programme tonight was horrific too.
