I want to add keywords to all of my pages. Right now, I'm adding them to
one page at a time. This is going to take forever.

Is there a way to do this en mass?
I'm using FP 2003.
Thanks.

Useful information.

I was told by the previous guy that designed these pages (I redesigned them
recently ... about 2-3 years later), that his optimization (another service
they provide) of the site wouldn't work unless I added the metadata. FP's
help told me to add as keywords, so that's what I was doing - is there a
true "metadata" component that I'm missing.

.... are you basically saying that it's a waste of time to do this ... or
will it help some?
Thanks so much for the prompt response.

No, because the keywords need to match ( or be contained in ) the visible
text in the
page,
or search engines such as Google will ignore them.

fwiw, most search engines ignore keywords anyway, and simply use the page
title and the
visible text.

Search engines change over time.
2 or 3 years ago keywords were recommended.
Today I consider them fairly useless.

If you run a Google search for example, you'll see that Google returns the page title and
any relative text from the visible text in the page.

As an example, run a Google search for: FP Cleaner.

The result should be the first hit returned.
There are zero keywords in that page, nor is there a meta description tag either.

Thanks Steve.
My search did give the same result.
Most interesting.
Again ... useful information. Thanks for your help.

Steve is saying the same thing. Interesting how it changes. But I guess
it's forever changes.
The trick is to keep up with these trends.
Diana

Keywords are pretty useless.
