I remember a long time ago, I saw some description on how to create shortcut
keywords for IE. E.g. typing "goo" in the address bar would expands to
http://www.google.com.

If this is still possible, please point me to the instructions. Thanks.

Using the Google Toolbar, you may set your search functionality to search from
your Browser's address window.

Nice tweak, though.

Is Google toolbar installed, Larry?
When I boot up my system, is there a key combination like "WINKEY + E" that
starts Internet Explorer?

Assuming Windows XP -

Use the IE5 Web Accessory Quick Search.exe for this.
It still works fine under IE6.

That depends on what you have in your Start menu. <eg>

For example, I have Internet Explorer in my Start menu
and it is the only thing in there which starts with I (capital i).
Therefore I can launch it simply by pressing Win and i

Alternatively, what I have done in other partitions is create a Desktop
shortcut to About:Blank and given it a keyboard shortcut of Ctrl-Alt-1

Peter this solved my problem

To start IE I had to click START right click IE click Properties under the
Short tab notice the status of Shortcut Key (In my case the dialogue box
showed NONE) I pressed the Ctrl key and the dialogue box switched to Ctrl +
Alt + (prompting me to assign it a letter) After doing so I clicked
Apply then OK and was off and running

The WINDOWS key + E that is supposed to open Explorer didn't work for my
laptop.
