Keystrokes inaccurate under Vista

Hi! Installed Vista the other day and so far it's going better than expected.
Love it, even on my low-end laptop. (As long as I do a clean install and not
an upgrade, it works great!)

BUT ... ever since installing Vista, I can be typing in any program
(including this window even as I type this), and the keystrokes I'm pressing
in SOME combination I can't figure out shoot me into another window. I'll be
typing and all of a sudden another window comes to the front and I'm typing
in there instead. Or, my typing will shoot back to the beginning of the same
line and will start inserting text in a different spot in the line. OR, the
window I'm typing in (like this one, TWICE so far) will suddenly minimize.

I am absolutely positive it is not that I'm pushing the wrong keys. I'm an
excellent touch typist (I do this for a living), and even when I slow down
and watch every key I push, it still happens. (The keystroke confusion has
happened at least six times in this message window alone!)

What is happening? Is there some "hot key" issue with Vista, or some setting
I need to change? It's becoming unbearable to keep changing windows back and
forth or to keep fixing all the errors this has been creating.

Thanks for any info.

Absolutely not. I've had this laptop for two years. I do secretarial work for
a living. This started the second I installed Vista and had never ever
happened before that minute. Even when I slow down to ridiculous levels, and
poise my fingers well over the keyboard so nothing touches a key but
fingertips, and then type VERRRRRY slowly, it still happens. It's happened
twice already in this reply window.

Trust me -- I've eliminated any variables that would include user error.
It's not me. Something has changed. Are there some sort of hotkey settings
or macro-type things that are kicking in that weren't there in XP?

Since you apparently upgraded an XP laptop to Vista, did you then go to
the laptop mftr.'s tech support site for Vista drivers and Vista laptop
software? If not, you need to do so. If there are no Vista drivers for
your specific model laptop, contact the laptop mftr. to see if and when
they will be available. If the laptop mftr. will not be writing Vista
drivers for your laptop, either put XP back onto the machine or use an
external keyboard (which may or may not be acceptable).
