I have a late 1990's compaq Presario. Does anyone know what keys to strike
during startup to enter CMOS? Your help will be most appreciated.

Power on the system and try pressing F2 to enter BIOS Setup when the logo
screen appears during startup.

If no joy, may as well retry with ESC {Escape key} or DEL {delete key}

If still no joy, you'll have to be very specific with the Compaq model
number.

P.S. see my reply to your other thread on the non-system disk issue.

Figure out what your BIOS is (usually just by watchng it boot) and/or
check at the manufacturer's site. IF it changes over time, which only
happens when they switch to a different BIOS mfg, they very likely have
the info available for old and new both.

I checked the link someone posted about BIOS entries and of the three
machines I have right here, two were incorrect and the other not listed.
Looks like it needs some serious rework to me.

Compaq's were almost always the F10 key right after the Compaq logo

Turn on the monitor first, then power on the PC and watch the screen. The
appropriate key will be mentioned in one corner of the screen.
