Keyboard keys AB&N stop working from time to time on my toshiba laptop running XP. I can't fiqure out the reason and it suddenly decides to function properly without any changes. Anyony no how to correct this?

Sounds like the connection under the keyboard for the keys may have come loose. Have you tried reseating the keyboard? What Toshiba laptop do you have?

How old is the laptop?

Regards

The laptop is a Toshiba Qosmio 15. I've taken the keyboard out and didn't notice anything wrong or misplaced. As you can see the keys are working just fine again, and sometimes doesn't act up for days. I thought it might be a software conflict, but I can't find any connection. it seems to happen more when the computer is a little sluggish.

This is a very strange problem. When you resaet the keyboard most of the time this corrects these issues. Have tried a reinstall of your OS?

What are you doing when this happens?

I'm not sure what seating the keyboard means. I find it odd that the same three keys decide not to work at the same time over and over, then return to function properly at the same time again. Do you think it could be something other than a circuit problem, like a language setting or something?

It seems to reset itself though, but not because I restart or anything. It also seems to happen when the computer becomes somewhat sluggish.

I appreciate any help you can give me.

Thanks

Hi,

I would dought that its a language problem, it could be that the keyboard is on it's way out. Reseating the keyboard is making sure that its all connected propliy to the motherboard and that all the screws are nice and secure. I do agree this is a very strange problem and I have never seen this before. How old is this laptop? Did you make any changes tot he hardware of software prior to the problem?
