Keying Oddity

Using Access 2000 on Win 2K Pro:

Is anyone aware of what would cause keying of code to
generate the following (it's peculiar to only one database
so far):

1. The text turns red before an error can even occur
(just typing "If" turns the text red).
2. Hitting the spacebar creates a space for about 2
seconds, then the cursor backspaces to the end of the
previous text. If you're in the middle of keying when
this happens the cursor is repositioned within the text
being written.
3. The Properties/Methods Lists appear for about 2
seconds then disappears.
4. The title bar flickers as though it's trying to
display a different form name, but it's too fast to see
what the other form name is.

I have compacted and repaired, imported into a new
database, and run Jetcomp and the behavior continues.

If anyone has experienced this and knows how to fix it,
I'd appreciate knowing how too (I've also rebooted the
machine, checked tools/options, toggled the insert key,
and cleaned the keyboard...I know, too easy...no joy).

TIA,
Trisha

I've heard that having an open form with a timer event can cause this to
occur. If you have one, try disabling the timer and see whether that solves
the problem.

I have had the same thing happen and it was the ontimer
event.
