Keyboards with e-ink keys

I stumbled across this earlier - a start-up called Sonder has developed a keyboard with individual e-ink keys, and apparently Apple is currently working with them and looking to acquire the business. Check out the tech:

The idea is that keys can vary depending on what you are doing or the application you are using. Rumour has it that Apple may be looking to develop colour e-ink keys too. Fascinating!

It even looks Apple-esq!

I have to admit, this could be pretty useful - not just for computer keyboards either. It would be nice to have customization gaming profile buttons .

I'm sure even with Apple pricing it will be cheaper than the Optimus Popularis (currently available for $1500)! Mind you that's not saying much...
