Keyboarding problem

I can be typing in any application, browser window or wherever and the
cursor disappears and I have to click the mouse at the point I left off
to continue. this happens constantly and is driving me nuts. Two
noteworthy things might play a part in it. It happened after I got XP
SP2 and after changing from a MS Natural keyboard to the Dell keyboard
that came with the system and I decided to start using it after having
the computer over 3 yrs. Dell Dimension 4500, 2.26 Ghz, 1 G. RAM. Is
there any way to change the way the computer sees the keyboard or does
that even matter. I just plugged it in and it worked.

Go to control panel - mouse and unselect the option to hide mouse pointer when typing.
 
Thanks, Mike. I thought that worked as I tried typing an email and then
in Word but as I started typing "thanks Mike" it did it again. Just
quits letting me type. Bummer!!! Any other suggestions?
