HELP! My keyboard isn't working at all (I'm using the Microsoft Word "insert symbol" tool to write this). I have no idea why it isn't working - it just stopped suddenly. I'm on a Dell laptop, so my keyboard IS plugged in. I don't know if the problem is with Windows (I have XP) or my laptop. Someone PLEASE help me!
 
Boot to safe mode and try to use the keyboard. If it works, then the
machine is fine and the problem is elsewhere. The keyboard still does
not work in safe mode, you might do a follow-up post.

If you usually log in with a password, change the way you login in ctrl
panel> user accounts, or you will not be able to log in if the kb is faulty!
