What do you mean by "desktop key"? I have an MS natural board and there is
no such thing.

Use your software that came with your keyboard. I wish my keyboard had a
desktop key. I remap my Log Off key to show the desktop. I don't actually
USE it, I suppose I should. Instead I tend to use the WinKey + D because old
habits die hard. Your software to control this is probably in your programs
list in the start menu. I don't know what type of keyboard you use but it's
probably listed under the keyboard's name or the company who made it.

Well, yes. Is it really nevcessary to announce that? :-)
Use your software that came with your keyboard.

The conventional advice is all very well, except that not every
keyboard comes with software. Mine did not, for instance.

There?s a decent and free keyboard remapping utility at

Fortunately everything can be done in software (regstry settings)
with Win XP.

Yes. Yes it was... People can get confused and people often have complaints
about bottom or top posts. To avoid confusion I just tell people ahead of
time.

Perhaps not but most seem to. I've bought a number of them and any which had
additional functions also came with software. Rather then offer additional
downloads the most common offer is to use applications already provided. If
the OP then posts back with a statement about there not being software or
them not being able to find the software installation medium I'd provide a
utility to use. Always use the tools available first to see if they work
before downloading additional software from perhaps less scrupulous coders.
Having never needed additional software to alter my keys I'd not be
comfortable recommending any other software as I'd never tried it.

However, I do appreciate your input.

tnx for info i dont have any software with my keyboard

Well, if you look in Mr. Brown's post there's a link to a utility which
should help you. I've never needed one so I can't say that I've ever used
one I'm afraid. I always try to avoid adding third party applications unless
required. Depending on the manufacturer of your keyboard you may be able to
download some software from their site. Have you tried that? If you have and
they don't then, as has been posted, there's utilities which will enable you
to remap your keyboard's keys to your liking.
