Keyboard Works but mouse does not

I installed Windows 2000 server as a dual boot on my D
drive and everything works fine except the mouse pointer
will not move. I have tried deleting the mouse and then
having it detect it. It says it works properly but will
not move. I also tried starting in safe mode but would
not work there either. It still works on my C drive if I
boot Win 98 from there. Can anyone help me?

Using a USB mouse might be a quick and cheap way
around the problem.
