I have a HP Pavilion 751n. It's a brand new Pc, which
I've had for a couple of months. The keyboard is an HP
Internet keyboard connected to a PS/2 port, and the mouse
is a USB one. The mouse's brand is HP although device
manager says is Logitech USB mouse. The deal is that a
couple of days ago the keyboard decided not work
anymore. I have tried two other keyboards and they both
had the same problem, I installed new drivers from the HP
website with no solution, I installed regular drivers
from MS and the problem did not get solved. I can't even
get into BIOS or Safe Mode. I have searched in other web
sites and it seems that I'm not the only person who is
having these keyboard problems. Despite that, I didn't
find any good solution to the issue. If anybody knows
how to solve this freaking problem please help! Thanks
in advance.

Hi Nero -

Since you've tried multiple keyboards, it's likely that the PS/2 port on
your motherboard has gone dead. Since your computer is only a couple of
months old, why not contact HP regarding a warranty replacement?

A temporary work-around might be to try a USB keyboard in order to back up
your personal files prior to shipping the system back to HP for repair or
replacement.

Thank you all for your help. I was hoping I wouldn't
have to contact HP about this issue, but it seems there's
nothing else that can be done. Thanks a bunch!
