I can't get XP to accept a UK keyboard, it keeps on
reverting back to US english settings. Any theories

Have you added the UK keyboard language?

1/ Go to control panel and click on Regional and Language options icon
2/ clcik the language tab
3/ in the text services and input language section click the details button
4/ make sure the default input language is English (United Kingdom)
5/ if you have added the english keyboard the default language probably says
English (United states). If you clcik the green arrow button to the right of
the default input language dialog box you should be able to select the
English (united kingdom) option from the drop down menu.
6/ Click apply button followed by ok
7/ if the English (united kingdom) option is not in the default language
dialog box drop down menu you will need to add it.
8/ In the installed serbices section clcik Add button
9/ select english (united kingdom) from the input language dialog box by
clciking the green arrow on the right of the box and selecting english
(united kingdom) from the drop down list
10/ clcik the apply button to apply the chjanges followed by OK
11/ go back now to the text services and input languages section on the
language tab and make sure that you select english (United kingdom) as the
default input language.
12/ again press Apply button followed by Ok to exit
hopefully you should now have an english (UK) keyboard language instead of
English (US)
