I'm looking for a corded keyboard that has a rather "stiff" touch and
will last more than a year or two. A couple of cheapies I have now
felt right when they were new, but the touch seems to have got softer
and a few of the keys are starting to stick occasionally.

Any suggestions? I tried the Microsoft models and don't like them.
What I'm looking for is a plain keyboard without all the fancy extra
buttons that I'd never use anyway. I do want power keys or buttons,
though.

TIA!

Haunt your local Salvation Army or equivalent store. You will
find lots of old keyboards, possibly including some genuine IBM
ones, for about USD 2 each. Many of them will be without those
annoying Windoze keys. I have about 4 or 5 lying around here.

They will also lack the power keys and such, but are definately good keyboards.
You will likely need an adapter to make it work with PS2 ports, but that isn't
hard to find.

www.northgate-keyboard-repair.com or eBay for Northgate keyboards.

Thanks for the suggestions. They gave me some interesting things to
consider.

An old genuine IBM, PS/2 keyboard is tough to beat.
