I have just installed Windows Desktop Search in XP. Having just downgraded
from Vista to XP, I got used to having the cursor in the search field
automatically. Is there a way (a keyboard shortcut, or any other way) to get
that cursor in the desktop search toolbar (or to bring up a window for me to
search, with the cursor there already)?

Well a little tinkering got me there--if you click on the Windows key + F,
you will get a search window to come up, with the cursor in the search field.

For anyone who's interested, when you install WDS, it places a shortcut in
the Programs folder. you can right-click on that and enter a keyboard
shortuct of your choosing, which would also trigger that same search window
(if you don't like the Win + F combination)

right "windowskey+F" will do the trick.
