keyboard problems

Hello again. Another problem and this one will really show how little I know, so apologies in advance! Firstly for some reason the number keys on the right hand side of my keyboard will not work. Any ideas? Secondly when I go back into a piece of text to edit it (using MS Word,) pressing the spacebar results in characters in front of the flashing horizontal line (sorry, can't remember what it's called!!) to be deleted. Again any ideas and apologies for being such a special needs case!

Insert, Num Lock for keyboard weirdness

Thank you so much - I was typing numbers on my Vaio laptop, instead of letters and was about to send it to Sony again for a new keyboard. You have saved me £££££.

well 7 months later im gona reply lol:

cant remember what i was celebrating prob just going from post number 232 to 233!! :)
