Hi

My client has an HP510 and he complained that the shift key is 'Locked' I
then sent the laptop back to HP and they replaced the keyboard.

The problem didn't disappear so I re-installed the OS.

Now he says that the Ctrl key gets locked

Can anyone suggest where the problem may be is it definitely the system
board or it may another component, since the keyboard was replaced I assume
it isn't that

Thank you,
Samuel

Sam, if the Keyboard been replaced and the issue appear with another key,
then I will take it a User habit Pressing Hard and for long time resulting
in s sticky key.
What happen if He/She use a USB/External Keyboard?.

The user doesn't have sticky keys on .
Can you have sticky key for one key only without getting the message?

Sorry, I meant with sticky key, by pressing hard and for long period of
time, making the Key jammed into the board!.
Try another USB keyboard and see if the issue is not a software one, to
eliminate it and look for hardware issue, since the laptop gone back to
HP/Vendor and the Keyboard replaced, I will concentrate on the User Behaviour
on dealing with or using the keys and how He/She press the Keys on the
Keyboard.
