Keyboard & Mouse not working.

I think I know why I've got no Keyboard and Mouse, but does anyone know how I
can get them back? Here's the scenario.

I handed my test PC over to our IT guys to perform the Vista Beta 2
installation. (Company practice apparently) and when the box came back we
fired it up and hey presto, mouse and keyboard not functioning. They
installed Vista using USB kit and I've only got PS2 so I think that's the
problem. Can I slam in the install DVD and re-run the installation to
address this hoping that hardware detection will kick in, or can I boot into
a SAFE mode that will allow me to make changes? or (horror) do I need to go
through the grizzly process of chastising my IT support team and getting them
to do it again?

I just tried Safe mode but still no response form keyboard or mouse so is it
back to square 1?

Snip...

Make sure you plug them into the correct ports ;-)
Can you access the BIOS by pressing a key doring boot ?

/HC

Ha ha. correct ports are being used. 1st thing I checked.. then double
checked.

Yes I can get into the BIOS at boot-up via the F2 key.

Best possible reason: Most likely culprit - specially if both keyboard and
mouse are USB - USB not enabled via BIOS

I have the exact same problem... its killing me, is there a way to fix this
horrid problem..? Without a mouse and keyboard, you literealy cannot do
anything but be taunted by the screen that gets you in... unable to click
next...
