installed windows xp on it. i recently restored my
computer, and installed windows xp again. the problem is,
my keyboard isnt working properly. i have one of those
keyboards with the shortcut and volume buttons on it. and
well they don't work. the same thing happened last time i
installed windows xp, and i had to go to the microsoft
website and download a driver or something like that
because i needed it so that my keyboard can work properly
with xp, except i forgot what i downloaded or where i
went to download it. what do i do? please somebody
help!!! write back to me to my email address please!

The usual process is; post here and reply here, don't expect e-mail. All
users might benefit from the replies. If you check your post to the "
General" newsgroup, you may find some help.

Computers are dumb, they should be able to read minds but
they can't...
Make a folder just for downloads and when you download
something put it in that folder. Further, create a new
folder (sub-folder) inside the DOWNLOADS folder that tells
you about the contents so you can find it again and know
what it is. For instance, I have a folder for McAfee and
another for Microsoft (with sub-sub folders for Windows and
Office). I have other folders for AnalogX and Adobe, and
Zone Labs.

Since you downloaded the Microsoft keyboard drivers once you
could do it again. But if you go to the MS site for the
keyboards and begin the download it will probably put the
file in the same default location where you already have the
same file.
If you know how to search your computer for a file search
for "ITP2*.exe" to find the IntelliType software.

We cannot help without the manufacter and model name of your keyboard.

.
I would think that all you would have to do is unplug
your keyboard then turn off your computer. Then plug
your keyboard and turn your puter back on. It should
detect it.
