Keyboard issues

Seemingly at random, most of the keys on the right half
of my Dell Inspiron 5100 keyboard output incorrect
characters [i.e numbers or symbols]. I did not install
any programs or open any e-mail between the time when it
operated properly and when the problem started. Any
suggestions?
