I am going crazy! We've only had this laptop for a couple
of weeks but whenever I try to type a message (like this
one) the cursor jumps for no reason back up to some other
area. I have to constantly delete keystrokes and use my
mouse to bring the cursor back to the end of the line to
start over...it takes me WAY too long to type a single
message let alone do a long report!!! Is this a bug in
the system??? (Uses Windows XP home edition) THANKS!!!

Hello

If it is that need I would consider calling the store where
yuou bought and have them check it out since it is still so
new

Hi, Carla.

I agree with Alvin; take it back.

First, though, you might check to be sure that you don't have a microphone
plugged in and some kind of voice recognition software trying to make sense
of all the background noise it's hearing. Several users have reported weird
behavior when that happens. ;^{

This might be a stupid suggestion, but..
Does the laptop have a touch-pad?
Perhaps your finger / hand is brushing against the touch-pad whilst you
type, and it's interpreting it as a mouse-click? That would cause the exact
symptoms you describe..

Try disabling the touch-pad, or using an external USB keyboard, and see
whether it fixes the problem.

Hope this helps!
